Web Design is what I do. And by that I do not mean just good optimised and attractive graphics and attractively laid out pages. I mean sites that display correctly in all the commonly used Browsers running on all the popular Operating Systems. I will also maintain your site for you and advise on emerging technologies and trends, such as Search Engine Optimisation techniques, to keep your site up to date, relevant and ensuring your business benefits from a correct web strategy.
As the web matures, just having an attractive and well designed site is not enough, although that is obviously very important. Great care and attention must be given to SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation, which means the text on the site must be correctly and relevantly written and organised so as to be easily legible to search engines; all code, the html or CSS that lies behind every webpage, must be optimised and correct; adequate attention must be given to a proper programme of links to and from your site. The list of requirements for an effective site is long, and as more and more web pages appear, the competition to get your site noticed increases. Hence the need for proper maintenance and regular updating and review of your site, all of which I can do, or alternatively create pages that you can edit with Adobe Contribute.
New technologies include Podcasting, which is something everyone is going to be doing soon. Why not steal a march on your competition? Again, I can advise as an experienced podcaster myself.
